Olivia’s Story
Olivia is a writer from the UK, living on the Malaysian island of Penang since July 2022. She also has roots in Switzerland and the US.
Her work has been published in printed magazines and online for publications including Vision – where she worked her first editorial internship – and BOAT International, where she was employed for more than four years as a member of the digital editorial team. Olivia has also crafted freelance content for Centurion, Prestige, Yachting World, Yacht Style and SUITCASE magazines. She has also written content for yacht broker Camper & Nicholsons and The Superyacht Gathering organisation.
The content Olivia produces largely focuses on the superyacht industry as well as luxury travel and lifestyle. Destinations that have been featured in her work include Greece, Barbados, the US, and Oman. Some of her greatest adventures have ranged from paragliding in the Swiss Alps and hiking the highest mountain in Malaysia to submarine diving in French Polynesia.
As a lover of literature and an MA graduate, Olivia also has a niche interest in literary history and Early Modern texts from the 1500s-1800s. She is a collector of rare books and has experience handling historic texts from collections at London institutions including the British Library. Her travels are often inspired by the books and novels she has read, which she details in her “bookstagram” account, @livbythebook.

A published journalist, Olivia has written numerous 1000+ word, long-read features for UK and international print publications. She has ample experience working with hard deadlines, varying her writing tone to suit house styles, fact-checking, interviewing and image researching.

As a digital writer, Olivia knows how to create clickable content for an online audience. She can handle a CMS, produce SEO-friendly pieces and track a website’s success through Google Analytics data. Olivia is also familiar with e-commerce affiliate programs and can build and edit e-newsletters.
Literary scholar
Olivia holds a First Class BA degree from Warwick University and an MA with distinction in Early Modern English Literature from King’s College London. Through her studies she has honed her research and criticism skills and developed valuable connections at leading institutions including the British Library.
